In the summer of 2013 I went on my first solo hiking adventure, thruhiking the John Muir Trail: 210 breathtaking miles (338 km) from Yosemite Valley to the top of Mount Whitney. I spent 25 amazing days in what used to be John Muir’s favorite “playground”: the wonderful Sierra Nevada!

My itinerary for 25 days was following (a yes I took it easy, no need to rush, hiking my first time in America right?! It didn’t take a zero, but most of the days were neros haha):
PS: If you are preparing for a JMT thruhike, go check Trail to Summit’s JMT hiking resource page! Allison has collected important and very useful information for future thruhikers.
In 2015 I thruhiked the JMT for a second time (again sobo) as a part of the Pacific Crest Trail.
You can find my blog entries about my second thruhike here.
My second thruhike took me 8 days less than my first one, cause I started with some pretty awesome “700 miles PCT – legs”.
